Today’s song is from the movie ‘Nainaa-1973’.

One song from this movie was posted on the blog ten years back on this day. In all, five songs were discussed on this day ten years ago on 19 January 2012.

Here is the list.

From the above table we can see that out of the five movies presented on the blog on 19.01.2012, three movies viz. ‘Sagaai-1951’, ‘Ghar Ghar Ki Baat-1959’ and ‘Do Dil-1965’ have already been Yippeeee’ed on the blog.

I am presenting a song from ‘Nainaa-1973’ for which the lyrics were sent by our dear Prakash ji.

‘Nainaa-1973’ was directed by Kanak Mishra for ‘Shakti International, Bombay’. It had Shashi Kapoor, Moushumi Chatterjee, Rahman, Akashdeep, David, Padma Khanna, Sanjana, Shaukat Kaifi, Praveen Pal, Madhumati, Jagirdar, Naagar, Samson, Feroza, Teerath, Polsan, Dhanraj, Sitaram, Krishna Kumar, Radheshyam, Jugnu and others.

This movie introduced Darpan and Siddharth. Farida Jalal, A.K. Hangal, and Rajshree have special appearance in this movie.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 10.09.1973.

This movie had seven songs written by Hasrat Jaipuri (five songs), Kaifi Azmi and Indeewar (one song each).

Music for this movie was composed by Shankar-Jaikishan.

Here is the list of songs this movie had as mentioned in HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980).

Out of the above list, I am aware of two songs ‘hamko to jaan se pyaari hai tumhaari aankhen’ and ‘albele sanam tu laaya kahaan’. May be other songs will turn out to be familiar after I listen to them.

I am sure I had not heard today’s song earlier. Today’s song is sung by Kishore Kumar and Sharda. On screen it is Shashi Kapoor and Padma Khanna lip syncing the song. The song is a ‘party song’ where other than Shashi Kapoor and Padma Khanna we can see Moushumi Chatterjee, David and others.
